Gold Standard Physiotherapy & Sports Medicine are a professional team passionate about musculoskeletal and sports injury rehabilitationOur dynamic team has gained a wealth of experience working in a number of private clinics and hospitals all over Sydney for the past 10 years. Together, we have contributed to the cooridation of the physiotherapy and sports medicine departments of clubs in the A league, NSW premier league and state league clubs of Australian football, as well as junior and grass roots sporting clubs from a range of different sports.

 

The team at Gold Standard are committed to providing the highest -quality of care for patients. All therapists are university qualified, professional and practice ethical and safe treatment interventions for all of our patients. Each member of the team participates in ongoing professional development to keep up to date with the latest research so that they can deliver the most effective treatments, and ensure patients are always receiving the Gold Standard of care.

Meet the team

Franco Zappavigna
Director & Senior Physiotherapist at our Blacktown Clinic

 

Franco has been working in the field of sports physiotherapy for 10 years, and in that time has treated patients from all over Sydney from Windsor to Mascot in both private and hospital sectors. 

 

Franco's sports experience ranges from grass roots football with the NSW institute of sport to Sydney United 58 FC in the NSW premier league and Sydney FC in the A League, giving him the expertise to deal with a vast array of sporting injuries. 

 

In his spare time he enjoys travelling, having traveled to 23 countries over the past 5 years, as well as reading and running in long distance events.

Chris Jekki
Director & Senior Physiotherapist at our South Windsor Clinic

 

Chris graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy. He has gained experience working in various hospitals around Sydney treating chronic and degenerative conditions such as rotator cuff muscle tears and osteoarthritic knees. Following working in the hospital system Chris spent many years in private practice treating post-operative, sports and work related injuries with hands on, exercise-based treatment.

 

On the sporting field Chris has a vast array of experience having worked with Sydney United and Blacktown Spartans in the National Premier League as well as Windsor Wolves Rugby League club. He’s also covered sports such as netball, rugby union, athletics, swimming and basketball. 

 

Chris has a passion for returning his patients back to their desired activity, be it on the sporting field or in everyday life as he believes everyone should be able to do and achieve anything they want to.

Samantha Nagy
Senior Physiotherapist at our Blacktown Clinic
Special areas of interest include injuries of lower limb, particularly the hip, groin, foot and ankle. Samantha also plays representative level soccer and enjoys going fishing in the great outdoors.
Anthony Tomelic
Senior Physiotherapist at our South Windsor Clinic
Special areas of interest include treating knee injuries such as ACL and meniscal repairs as well as soccer injuries. Anthony also plays soccer at a high level and is a coffee enthusiast.
Dylan Kang
Physiotherapist at our South Windsor Clinic
Special areas of interest include overuse injuries, particularly of the knee and ankle, osteoarthritis and lower back pain. Dylan enjoys playing Oz tag and has competed at a national level for a few years in a row as well as supporting the mighty Bulldogs in the NRL.
Maree Di Martino
Physiotherapist at our Blacktown & South Windsor Clinics
Special areas of interest include shoulder injuries and crossfit/F45 injuries. Maree regularly participates in F45/Boot camp, enjoys spending much of her time with her stumpy tail cattle dog, Oreo and supporting Manchester United.
Cameron Silsby
Physiotherapist at our South Windsor Clinic
Special areas of interest include treating sporting injuries, particularly of the knee and hip. Cameron spends his time in the gym, running and is a die hard Liverpool FC supporter in the English Premier League.
Jeff Baysic
Physiotherapist at our Blacktown & South Windsor Clinics

Special interest areas include neck and foot and ankle injuries. Outside of the clinic Jeff spends most of his time with his young son as well as passionately supporting the Newcastle Knights rugby league team.

Joseph Gergis
Physiotherapist at our Blacktown & South Windsor Clinics
Special areas of interest include lower back, shoulder and overuse injuries. Jospeh spends his spare time playing basketball, going to the gym and relaxing at the beach.
